GE: expects to close Danaher deal by end of month

(CercleFinance.com) - GE said on Friday that it has won acceptance by the US Federal Trade Commission to sell its BioPharma business to Danaher for approximately 20 billion dollars, expecting to close the deal at the end of the month.


The FTC's acceptance satisfies all antitrust clearances required for the transaction, the US conglomerate said in a statement.

In addition to the FTC, the deal has also been cleared by the European Commission and the Brazilian, Chinese, Israeli, Japanese, Korean, and Russian antitrust authorities, GE said.

The BioPharma unit makes equipment and resins that help biopharmaceutical companies to produce medicines.
