Ford: US car sales plummet in October

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford has announced that it sold a total of 175,918 vehicles in the US in October 2021, down 4% y-o-y.


This figure is mainly due to the decline in the number of cars sold in the country (-74.3%) with only 3142 units.

Truck sales are also down (-7%), to 94,449 units. Only SUVs increased (+12.8%), with 78,327 vehicles sold.

Ford states that its gross stock levels continue to grow, with 243,000 vehicles at the end of October, 7,000 more than the previous month.

In addition, Ford says it recorded 77,000 new vehicle retail orders in October - up 25,000 on September's new vehicle orders.

The share is currently up about 0.3% in early trading today.
