Ford: European sales slump 26.8% in 2020

(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday, the Ford group announced that it sold 974,982 vehicles in Europe in 2020, i.
e. down 26.8% relative to 2019 (1.33 million).

The group announced a total market share of 7.1%, down -0.3 point from 2019.

However, the car maker boasts its position as the leading brand of light commercial vehicles for the sixth consecutive year in the 20 EU markets and for 56 consecutive years in the UK.

Ford also underlines the growing popularity of electric vehicles, particularly in Germany, where 14% of Ford passenger cars sold were electrified in 2020, compared with a mere 0.6% the year before.

At the same time, the share of Ford SUVs in Europe rose to 38.1% of all passenger cars in 2020, up 8.1 points compared to 2019.
