Boeing: Japan orders two tankers
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing has won a contract to deliver two additional KC-46A Pegasus tankers to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF), bringing the total number of aircraft under contract in Japan to six.
In addition to refuelling, the KC-46A offers multi-mission capabilities, including data connectivity and the transport of personnel, cargo and air medical care.
This additional KC-46A acquisition strengthens the U.S.-Japan security alliance to support security and stability throughout the Pacific region, Boeing Japan said.
Boeing has delivered 67 KC-46A tankers, including 65 to the US Air Force and two to Japan.
