Apple: files suit against NSO Group
(CercleFinance.com) - Apple today announced that it has filed a lawsuit against NSO Group and its parent company, holding them responsible for the surveillance and targeting of Apple users.
The complaint alleges that NSO Group infected victims' devices via Pegasus spyware. To prevent further abuse and harm to its customers, Apple is also asking that NSO Group be permanently barred from using any Apple software, services or devices.
Apple devices are the most secure consumer hardware on the market, but private companies developing state-sponsored spyware have become increasingly dangerous, it said.
While these cybersecurity threats affect only a very small number of our customers, we take any attack on our users very seriously, and we are constantly working to strengthen security and protection for all our users, it added.
