Alphabet: Google/EDP Renewables development agreement

(CercleFinance.com) - EDP Renewables announces the signing of a development agreement with Google, through its decentralised solar subsidiary EDP Renewables North America Distributed Generation (EDPR NA DG), for over 80 decentralised solar PV projects of approximately 650 MWp (500 MW).


This is the largest distributed solar sponsorship between two US companies, according to S&P Global and Bloomberg NEF (BNEF) data. This could be the largest contract EDPR has ever signed with a decentralised solar customer.

The first solar farms will be built in Ohio, where Google has a data centre in New Albany. The project will then be extended to six US states.

EDPR NA DG will be responsible for the development, construction and operation of the solar photovoltaic parks, with the first project set to come on stream in late 2024.
