Alphabet: Google fined E500m in France
(CercleFinance.com) - The French Competition Authority today announced that it is fining Google 500 million euros for having disregarded several injunctions issued in the context of its April 2020 decision on interim measures for the remuneration of ancillary rights.
Requests for interim measures were submitted by the Syndicat des éditeurs de la presse magazine and the Alliance de la presse d'information générale.
When the Authority imposes injunctions on companies, they are required to apply them scrupulously, in both letter and spirit. In this case, unfortunately, this was not the case, Isabelle de Silva, President of the Authority, said.
