Alfa Laval: buys US beer technology firm Sandymount

(CercleFinance.com) - Sweden's Alfa Laval said on Tuesday that it has signed an agreement to buy Sandymount, a US-based beverage technology company that holds a patented membrane technology to concentrate beer.


The engineering firm - which makes heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling systems - said Sandymount's technology, Revos, will help open up interesting business opportunities, enabling beer makers to deliver high quality beer in concentrated form.

According to estimates, the beer market is expected to grow at a projected compound annual rates (CAGR) of 3.7% over the period 2020-2025.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
