Ericsson to deploy private LTE network in Texas

(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson has signed a multi-year agreement with the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) to deploy a private LTE network in 68 Texas counties.


The network is designed to modernize the electrical grid, improve low-latency communication and enhance operational security.

It will be based on Ericsson's dual-mode 5G Core solution, a radio access network (RAN) and network management and security tools.

The LCRA will benefit from improved visibility of its operations and critical applications such as push-to-talk and SCADA.

Ericsson will provide continuous monitoring to protect the network against weather and cyber threats.
