Stellantis: Fiat enters Algerian market

(CercleFinance.com) - Stellantis announced this weekend the launch of several models of the Fiat brand in Algeria.


As from 21 March, the Fiat 500 Hybrid, Fiat 500X, Fiat Tipo, Fiat Doblò, Fiat Scudo and Fiat Ducato models will be available on the Algerian market.

This decision will contribute to the development of the automotive sector in Algeria, with a large-scale plan integrating the local production of Fiat models in Tafraoui, Oran, as well as the creation of a solid sales and after-sales service network, the car maker says.

This includes the construction of the Tafraoui plant in the wilaya of Oran, which will be completed in August 2023. The first wave of investment, worth over 200 million euros, by Stellantis and its suppliers, will enable the production of four models, starting with the FIAT 500 in December 2023

By 2026, this initiative will create almost 2,000 new local jobs, with a localisation rate of over 30% and an annual production capacity of 90,000 vehicles.
