Stellantis: tests dynamic induction charging

(CercleFinance.com) - Stellantis has announced the inauguration of "Arena del futuro", a circuit built in Italy by A35 Brebemi, a cooperation between Stellantis and other partners, in order to test the technology of electrical recharging of vehicles by dynamic induction.


Powered by 1 MW of electrical power, the circuit is just over a kilometre long and is equipped with a Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer (DWPT) system that enables vehicles to be charged wirelessly and in motion through a system placed under the asphalt.

Stellantis said that DWPT is one of the main technologies that is being implemented to provide an immediate and concrete response to the need for decarbonisation and environmental sustainability in the mobility sector.

The first results are extremely encouraging, it added. Note that Stellantis plans to invest over 30 billion euros in electrification and software development by 2025.
