Ahold Delhaize: 16% increase in 2022 EPS

(CercleFinance.com) - Food retailer Ahold Delhaize has reported 2022 underlying EPS of 2.
55 euros, up 16.5% at actual rates, with an underlying operating margin of 4.3%, down 0.1 percentage point.

Sales rose by 15.1% to almost 87 billion euros, including a 6.9% increase at constant exchange rates, with the latter being stronger in the US (+7.9%) than in Europe (+5%).

Ahold Delhaize will propose a dividend of 1.05 euro per share for 2022, up 10.5%, and expects underlying EPS for 2023 to be around last year's levels, as well as an underlying operating margin of 4% or more.

In addition, the Belgo-Dutch company says that it is launching the "Accelerate" initiative to strengthen the Save For Our Customer cost savings program and provide additional impetus to the key strategic priorities of Leading Together.
