Airbus: considers reducing working hours

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus is considering reducing working hours in France in order to limit redundancies over the next two years, Bloomberg says, due to the collapse of global air transport caused by Covid-19.

The group intends to make 15,000 redundancies, which may actually be insufficient to cope with the current crisis Aurel BGC said this morning.

This decision would help it to preserve its skills in order to restart production of single-aisle aircraft at rates similar to those of last year between 2023 and 2025, said Airbus' head of human resources for France, Donald Fraty, in a letter sent to employees on Friday, Bloomberg reports.

Airbus is facing an unprecedented Crisis Donald Fraty wrote, referring to an expert's report on the financial situation prrsented to the works council on Thursday - the prospects for a recovery in the company's business are highly uncertain.
