ASML: share down after trading update

(CercleFinance.com) - The ASML share is currently down 1% in Amsterdam, after the specialist in lithography equipment unveiled its Q1 2018 results, accompanied by prospects that analysts judge to be mixed.


The Dutch group reported quarterly EPS of 1.26 euro, seven cents higher than the consensus, for turnover of 2.29 billion euros, thanks to strong demand for deep ultraviolet (DUV).

Nevertheless, although the group's Q2 sales forecast exceeded the consensus by 4%, at 2.55 billion (middle of its target range), Bryan Garnier points out that its forecast for gross margin falls short of analysts' expectations.
