ArcelorMittal: share up on strong Q2

(CercleFinance.com) - ArcelorMittal reported "solid" results on Thursday, announcing Ebitda of over five billion dollars for the fifth consecutive quarter.


The steelmaker said its Ebitda - the financial indicator most closely followed by investors - was 5.16 billion dollars in Q2, up from 5.05 billion dollars a year ago.

This was higher than the average consensus forecast provided by ArcelorMittal, which was looking for 5.09 billion dollars.

The world's largest steel company also announced the acquisition of Brazilian Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP), based on an enterprise value of 2.2 billion dollars.
