Toyota: developing a storage battery with TEPCO

(CercleFinance.com) - Toyota announces that it has developed a stationary storage battery system (1 MW output, 3 MWh capacity) with Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO), combining TEPCO's operating technology and safety standards for stationary storage batteries and Toyota's electrified vehicle storage battery technology system.


The system will be installed at the Eurus Tashirota wind farm by Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation: the four companies will begin a collaborative verification project in the autumn of this year.

The battery storage market is expected to continue to grow with the spread of renewable energy and electrified vehicles, as well as the global trend towards carbon neutrality, Toyota says.
