WPP: to merge Young & Rubicam with VML

(CercleFinance.com) - WPP is merging its marketing agency VML with its ad agencies network Young & Rubicam in a move that will create a brand agency of over 7,000 people, which will be one of the group's main units.


The new "VMLY&R" entity will help to deliver a fully-integrated digital and creative offering to clients on a global scale, the communication giant said.

Young & Rubicam clients include Colgate-Palmolive, Dell and the US Navy, while VML's clients include Bayer, Bridgestone, Ford, Microsoft, and PepsiCo.

The new agency will be led by Jon Cook, who is currently the CEO of VML.

VMLY&R is set to be fully operational in early 2019.
