ENI: gas discovery near Nile Delta

(CercleFinance.com) - As the block operator , Eni and its partner BP, announce a new gas discovery in the "Great Nooros" zone, located in the conventional waters of the Nile Delta, off the coast of Egypt.


The preliminary assessment of the results of the Nidoco NW-1 exploration well, combined with recent discoveries in the area, show that the gas in the "Great Nooros" zone can be estimated at over 4,000 billion cubic feet.

The Italian energy company, through its subsidiary IEOC (a 50-50 joint venture with the Egyptian national company EGPC) holds a 75% interest in the Abu Madi West Development Lease licence, where "Great Nooros" is located.
