Compass: stock down despite FY EPS doubling

(CercleFinance.com) - Compass shares are down over 2% in London after the foodservice group reported results for its 2021-22 financial year, which included a doubling of underlying EPS (+104%) to 63p.


Also on an underlying basis, its operating margin improved by 170 bp to 6.2%, on record revenue of 25.8 billion pounds, including organic growth of 37.5%.

Regarding returns to shareholders, Compass has announced an increase in its annual dividend per share to 31.5p, as well as additional share buybacks totaling 250 million pounds.

For FY 2022-23, the group expects underlying operating profit to increase by over 20% at constant exchange rates, driven by organic sales growth of around 15% and an underlying operating margin of over 6.5%.
