easyJet: stock takes off after quarterly loss reduced
(CercleFinance.com) - easyJet shares are up 10% in London this morning as the low-cost airline reported a better-than-expected pre-tax loss of 133 million pounds for Q1 2022-23, compared with a loss of 213 million pounds a year earlier.
The UK group announced a 36% y-o-y increase in revenue per seat, with a 10% improvement in its load factor and a 21% improvement in ticket yield.
Management expects the booking momentum and unit revenue trend to continue, and anticipates a significantly lower H1 seasonal loss, Liberum noted, which maintains its 'buy' rating on the stock.
