Shell: chooses Airbus H160 helicopter for operations

(CercleFinance.com) - Shell has chosen PHI - the leading US offshore helicopter operator - to operate four Airbus H160 helicopters and maintain a support contract in the Gulf of Mexico.


This contract marks the arrival of the H160 on the hydrocarbon market, as its characteristics meet the levels of safety, comfort and reliability required in offshore operations, Airbus said.

The three companies - Airbus, PHI and Shell - will set up a unique partnership. It has been agreed that prior to final deliveries that Airbus will supply an H160 to PHI and Shell so that the operator and the end client can familiarise themselves with the new helicopter, thereby making it operational more quickly.
