Shell: the Netherlands picked as EU home state after Brexit

(CercleFinance.com) - Royal Dutch Shell said on Monday that it has chosen the Netherlands as the EU home member state for its regulatory compliance following the Brexit deal.


The Anglo-Dutch oil major said that the move means that it will now file regulatory documents with AFM, the Dutch market regulator.

For example, major shareholders will have to report their stakes in Shell to the Dutch financial regulator, the energy giant said.

Shell's status as a UK-based PLC company, headquartered in The Netherlands, remains the same, it added in a statement.
