BT: helping pupils in UK with 'Lockdown Learning'

(CercleFinance.com) - As schools are closed across in the UK due to the pandemic, the British incumbent telecom operator BT has launched "Lockdown Learning", a support program to facilitate students' online learning and their interaction with teachers.

"We want to help ensure no one is left behind while face-to-face teaching is on hold," said Marc Allera, head of BT's Client division.

Free and unlimited mobile data will be made available to EE and BT Mobile customers, who are eligible for the Department of Education's "Get Help with Technology" program, instead of the previously announced 20GB.

BT will also offer free WiFi vouchers to schools and charity partners to be passed on to parents who do not have sufficient connectivity to access digital home education resources.

Despite this, the BT share is down almost 3% on Friday afternoon in a market that is just under water.
