Tesco: FY 2021-22 EPS almost doubled
(CercleFinance.com) - Tesco has reported FY 2021-22 adjusted EPS that increased 88.
8% to 21.86p, with the group proposing a final dividend of 7.70p, bringing its annual dividend to 10.90p, up 19.1%.
The British food retail giant posted adjusted operating profit that is up 58% at 2.82 billion pounds on sales (excluding VAT and fuel) that are up 2.5% to almost 54.8 billion pounds (+3% excluding currency effects).
Given the uncertain external environment, Tesco has provided a wider than usual target range for FY 2022-23, with retail adjusted operating profit expected to be between 2.4 and 2.6 billion pounds.
However, doubts seem to be overshadowing the numbers, with the share down almost 5% in early trading today.
