BP: Susan Dio named head of BP America
(CercleFinance.com) - BP has appointed Susan Dio as chair and president of BP America after John Mingé was chosen to chair a study by the National Petroleum Council, the oil giant said on Tuesday.
In her new role, effective as of 1 May, Susan Dio will be BP's chief representative in the United States, where the company has invested over 100 billion dollars since 2005.
Susan Dio, a chemical engineer by training, has been chief executive of BP's shipping unit for the past three years.
John Mingé will move to chair a study by the National Petroleum Council (NPC) into carbon capture technologies, and is due to retire from BP in March 2019.
