Diageo: acquisition of Super premium Aviation gin

(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday British spirits group Diageo announced its intention to acquire Aviation American Gin for up to 610 million dollars.


The transaction will also enable Diageo to acquire the other brands in the Davos Brands portfolio, the owner of Aviation, including Astral tequila, Sombra mezcal and TYKU sake.

Created in 2014, Aviation American has accelerated its development since the Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds took a stake in it - he is also its spokesperson, which is currently the second largest player in the US super premium gin market.

The transaction will mean an initial payment of 335 million dollars, which could be increased by a further 275 million dolalrs, depending on the achievement of certain performance targets over a ten-year period.
