bioMérieux: CE marking of SARS-CoV-2 tests

(CercleFinance.com) - bioMérieux today announces CE marking of VIDAS Anti-SARS-CoV-2 serological tests for the detection of antibodies in persons exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which leads to the Covid-19 disease.


It points out that its two VIDAS anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM and anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG tests provide results in less than 30 minutes and have demonstrated excellent performance on a large number of clinical samples, with respective specificity of 99.4% and 99.9%.

The tests are now available in Europe and in countries that recognise CE marking. bioMérieux plans to quickly submit an application for emergency use of these tests to the FDA in the United States.
