Soitec: signs partnership for electric vehicles

(CercleFinance.com) - The Institute of Microelectronics, an entity of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and Soitec have announced a research partnership to develop the next generation of silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor devices.


The Sic is intended to power electric vehicles and advanced high-voltage electronic devices.

The partners will leverage Soitec's patented technologies such as Smart Cut TM and IME's pilot production line to manufacture 200mm diameter SiC substrates.

The research collaboration is set to last until mid-2024.
