CGG: phase 3 of study in North Sea

(CercleFinance.com) - CGG announces phase 3 of its 3D multi-client study located in the northern North Sea.


This study is intended to enrich the "Northern Viking Graben" (NVG) program with the addition of a second azimuth and to extend CGG's coverage in this UKCS area.

This phase 3, which is scheduled to start in early May 2022 and continue throughout the North Sea season, supplements phases 1 and 2 of 2020 and 2021. The first images of phase 3 should be available early 2023, with final images in early 2024.

Management said that customer feedback on the high quality of products delivered in Phase 1 confirms that, thanks to CGG's superior imaging, the improved and expanded NVG study will reduce increase the risks of existing fields and accelerate new discoveries, the potential of proximity fields and the identification of future carbon dioxide storage sites.
