Spie: mobile cycle bridge project in Netherlands

(CercleFinance.com) - Spie says that its Dutch subsidiary is now part of a team to build a mobile cycle bridge built from natural raw materials.

The final plans have been approved of, and preparations for its installation have begun.

Designed in fiber-reinforced plastic, this innovative bridge for bicycles will meet the standards set by the French multi-technical service provider, in close collaboration with the province of Friesland and Infra Composites.

The new bicycle bridge will replace the existing bridge on the Van Harinxma canal, whose useful life is coming to an end, and it will guarantee a safe and easy passage for larger vessels, thanks to its clearance width of 17 metres. It will become operational in early 2019.
