Carmat: 100th Aeson implantation completed

(CercleFinance.com) - Medical technology company Carmat announces that it has passed the milestone of 100 implantations of its Aeson artificial heart, the 99th and 100th having been successfully performed last Friday at the Lille and Dijon teaching hospitals.


The first 50 implantations had been performed within the space of 10 years, between 2013 and the end of 2023. Since the beginning of 2024, the pace has accelerated sharply, with 50 additional implantations carried out in just over a year.

This momentum confirms Carmat's ambition to double sales by 2025, and 'gradually establish Aeson as a reference therapy in the treatment of advanced heart failure'.
