Getlink: +176% increase in passenger shuttle traffic in July

(CercleFinance.com) - Getlink, the parent company of Eurotunnel which operates the Channel Tunnel, says its Shuttle passenger shuttle service carried 270,691 passenger cars last month, up 176% compared to July 2021.


However, Le Shuttle Freight carried 115,712 trucks, down 1% on July 2021, mainly due to difficulties on UK roads around Folkestone and Dover.

Since 1 January, over 1,143,000 passenger cars and more than 882,000 trucks have crossed the Channel on shuttles, up 227% and 16% respectively compared to the first seven months of last year.
