Novacyt: market applauds 2020 results

(CercleFinance.com) - Novacyt is of the biggest winners in Paris on Tuesday morning, in particularly high volumes, following the group's publication of 2020 results and an update on its growth strategy.


The clinical diagnostics specialist's share price is currently up about 8% in volumes that already represent all those processed during the whole day yesterday, while the CAC Mid & Small index is up just 0.3% in comparison.

The Franco-British company this morning reported that its consolidated sales had increased over 20-fold last year to 277.2 million pounds, representing exponential growth from the 11.5 million pounds in 2019.

Meanwhile, Ebitda jumped to 176.1 million pounds in 2020, against just 200,000 pounds the previous year.

As a result, profit after tax reached 132.4 million pounds, compared with a loss of 5.7 million pounds in 2019.

For the five months to the end of May, Novacyt's unaudited revenue reached 88.4 million pounds, more than double the 40.8 million pounds in the same period of 2020.

In addition, cash at the end of 2020 reached 91.8 million pounds at end-2020, up from 1.5 million a year earlier.
