Arkema: expects Q4 sales to fall about 7%

(CercleFinance.com) - Arkema has reported Q3 2020 sales of 1,909 million euros, down 13.
9% y-o-y. LFL sales were down 8.9%, albeit representing a clear improvement from Q2 (-18.1%).

Its EBITDA came in at 307 million euros (vs. 385 million euros in Q3 2019), with the group saying that this was mainly impacted by lower volumes, lower prices in Intermediates, an unfavourable consolidation scope and FX factors, while it was partly offset by cost reduction initiatives and lower raw material prices, the group said.

Underlying net profit came in at 109 million euros, or 1.42 euro per share.

"Fourth-quarter sales could therefore decline by around 7% year on year at constant scope and currency, reflecting a solid performance of the construction market for Bostik and Coating Solutions, a sequential improvement for High Performance Polymers, but a continued marked decline in Intermediates," it said.
