Alstom: celebrates 10 years of its Taubaté plant
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom is celebrating 10 years of operation at its rolling stock plant in Taubaté, in the state of São Paulo.
Inaugurated in 2015, Alstom's Taubaté plant is a stainless steel railcar production center located near the Port of Santos, Latin America's largest port complex.
The plant produced 27 Citadis cars for the Rio de Janeiro tramway, which were manufactured for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. Following the conclusion of the VLT contract, the plant also produced NS16 cars for the Santiago metro in Chile.
The site generates almost 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.
' Celebrating ten years of building trains at our Taubaté plant reaffirms Alstom's commitment to Brazil and to providing mobility solutions that connect people and transform cities. ' said Suely Sola, Managing Director of Alstom Brazil.
