Alstom: acquisition in braking systems

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has announced the acquisition of Flertex, a company that is specialised in the design and manufacture of brake linings (pads and shoes) for braking systems - particularly for the rail industry - but also for other industrial applications.


"It comes only a few months after that of IBRE, a company specialised in the development, manufacture, and supply of cast-iron or steel brake discs", the transport equipment manufacturer said.

Flertex has around 120 employees, mainly in Gennevilliers (Île-de-France) and Saint-Florentin (Burgundy-Franche-Comté), having reported 2020 sales of around 16 million euros, over 50% of which came from the rail industry.
