Alstom: successful pilot phase for hydrogen trains

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that after 530 days and more than 180,000 kilometres traveled, the pilot phase of the first two hydrogen trains in the world, a pilot series of trains in its Coradia iLint range, officially ended successfully in late February.


From 2022, 14 Coradia iLint trains will replace the fleet of railcars on both these lines, under a contract with the company LNVG providing for the supply of these trains as well as their maintenance and energy supply for thirty years.

Alstom will produce the fuel cell trains for LNVG and will be responsible for maintenance at its site in Salzgitter. Linde will build and operate a hydrogen filling station near Bremervoerde station.
