Alstom: two X'Trapolis Mega trains presented in South Africa

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that two X'Trapolis Mega trains, which are fully produced by its South African joint venture Gibela, have been presented by PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa), the South African agency in charge of rail transport, to the inhabitants of the Cape Town.


These trains are part of the new high-end fleet of 600 units that are currently being manufactured, which Gibela will deliver to PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa).

The first 18 vehicles, which are currently in service in Pretoria, north of Johannesburg, were built in Brazil at Alstom's Lapa plant.
