Alstom: commissions first connected tram

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announced on Friday evening that it has commissioned its wifi overground-train communication solution, on eight tramsets of the tram line 2 of the Nice Cote d'Azur metropolis between the CADAM and Jean Médecin stations.


Nice therefore becomes the first French agglomeration to propose a connected tramway, with technology deployed for the first time for this type of project, Alstom said.

This solution offers wifi connections at stations and onboard trams and train to travellers for their connectivity needs. It also enables a better supervision of trams from the control centre.
