Valneva: contract with US Army for Ixiaro vaccine

(CercleFinance.com) - Valneva has announced the signing of a new $32.
8m contract with the US Department of Defense (DoD) for the supply of its Japanese encephalitis vaccine "Ixiaro".

Under this new one-year contract - which follows a previous agreement signed in September 2023 - the DoD will have the option of purchasing additional doses over the next twelve months.

We are honored to continue our long-standing relationship with the US Department of Defense. The US military has relied on Ixiaro for over a decade to protect military personnel, their families, civilian personnel and government contractors from this potentially deadly disease, Valneva said.

Valneva also points out that Ixiaro is the only vaccine against Japanese
encephalitis approved by the US FDA.
