Renault: agreement with Airbus in electrification

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus and Renault have signed an R&D agreement to strengthen cross-functionality and synergies and meet both their electrification needs.


This partnership will enable Airbus to advance the technologies associated with future hybrid-electric aircraft.

Airbus and Renault Group engineering teams will join forces to advance energy storage technologies.

In particular the collaboration will focus on the technological building blocks relating to the optimisation of energy management and the improvement of battery weight.

It will explore the best options for doubling the energy density of batteries by 2030, moving from current chemical cells (advanced lithium-ion) to fully solid state designs.
