Société Générale: stock up on Barclays upgrade

(CercleFinance.com) - The Société Générale share is one of the biggest risers in the CAC 40 index on Wednesday, with Barclays upgrading the French bank's share to "overweight".


The company's shares were up 0.8% before 2pm, while the CAC was down 0.1%.

Barclays' analysts explain that the consensus seems to be particularly cautious about the French group's retail banking activity, a caution that leads them to see a buy opportunity at the share's current levels, especially as the corporate and investment banking (CIB) branch seems particularly solid.
