Casino: H1 sales up 5.7%

(CercleFinance.com) - The retailer's consolidated sales reached 15.
9 billion euros in H1 2022, up 5.7% LFL (+3.0% on an organic basis and +9.8% as reported).

Group EBITDA amounted to 1,069 million euros, down slightly (-2.2%) after the impact of exchange rates and -7.8% at constant exchange rates.

Underlying net loss, group share was -102 million euros, down 28 million euros relative to H1 2021. Diluted underlying EPS was -1.35 euro, compared to -1.03 euro in H1 2021. The net loss, group share, was -259 million euros, vs. -208 million euros in H1 2021.

For 2022, Casino confirms that aims to maintain a high level of profitability and improve cash flow generation, and to continue the 4.5 billion euro disposal plan in France, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

Investors believe that Casino's results are a bit of a lottery, with the share down 2.5% as things stand.
