Vinci: Gatwick Airport makes loss in 2020
(CercleFinance.com) - London's Gatwick airport, owned by the French group Vinci, has recorded a loss of 465.
5 million pounds for FY 2020, with passenger traffic collapsing 78% last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Stewart Wingate, the British airport's CEO, announced job cuts corresponding to over 40% of its workforce following the publication of these results.
In a statement, Gatwick nevertheless expressed "optimism" about a recovery in activity as early as this summer, as the British government has announced a return to international flights as from May.
