Vinci: agreement for study on Bordeaux-London line

(CercleFinance.com) - The Vinci Group today announced that in mid-October an agreement was reached between LISEA (a subsidiary of Vinci Railways), SNCF Réseau, Eurotunnel and HS1, for the completion of a feasibility study to adapt the Bordeaux Saint-Jean station for the development of future cross-Channel traffic.


Vinci said that this agreement, which marks a milestone in the cooperation between the four infrastructure managers, provides for a study to establish the establishment of the necessary facilities for border security checks, hence enabling passengers to go directly from Bordeaux Saint-Jean station to London Saint-Pancras.

This new rail link would connect Bordeaux to London in the space of five hours.
