Saint-Gobain: H1 net loss of E434m
(CercleFinance.com) - The company reported H1 sales of 17,764 million euros, down 18.
1% as reported and down 12.3% like-for-like relative to H1 2019. EBITDA fell by 32.4% to 1,635 million euros, with the group's EBITDA margin reaching 9.2% compared to 11.2% in H1 2019. Underlying net income (excluding capital gains and losses on disposals, asset impairments and significant non-recurring provisions) amounted to 272 million euros, compared to 944 million euros in H1 2019. The group made a net loss of 434 million euros. In the second half of 2020, despite an environment riddled with uncertainty around the impact of the coronavirus crisis and by deferred recoveries in different countries, in Q3 Saint-Gobain should benefit from a significant improvement in its markets that began at the end of Q2, it said.
