Thales: improves its biometric matching system

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announced today that it is applying the innovative FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) technology, designed for massive data processing, in order to improve the performance of its biometric matching system.


Border agencies using entry/exit systems, and any other governmental agency working in real time, can now benefit from low latency biometric data processing and a scalable solution, while reducing costs, the group said.

This technology was originally designed for ultra low latency applications in high-performance computing environments, such as the financial and scientific sectors.
