Thales: to create cybersecurity academy in Oman
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales and Oman's public privatisation and partnership authority are due to create an advanced cybersecurity academy.
According to the Global Cybersecurity Index, Oman is already ranked third in the world, just behind the United States and Canada, in terms of its preparations against cyberattacks.
The country also ranked second in the Middle East, according to the latest global cyber security index of the International Telecommunication Union, for the protection of its national infrastructure.
The new partnership will further strengthen the country's cyber-readiness. Thales will provide Cyber Range platforms (sophisticated cybersecurity training and testing facilities) to the Advanced Cybersecurity Academy, in addition to a comprehensive e-learning program in cybersecurity. This program will be led by Thales cyber-experts, who will be based in Oman for two years and will train 16 training staff at the Academy.
