Thales: secures maritime traffic in Togo
(CercleFinance.com) - The Togolese Republic and Thales Alenia Space announce that they have signed a contract for a MEOLUT Next ground station.
It is a ground station for search and rescue applications for people in distress. “This system will enable the instantaneous location, with unprecedented accuracy, of a distress call issued by a beacon,” the group said. This station will enable Togo to receive Search And Rescue (SAR) distress signals over an area of more than 3000 km radius, thus covering the entire Gulf of Guinea, and a large part of the interior of the African continent.
