Moët Hennessy: EU authorises Tannico acquisition
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has authorised the acquisition of a joint control of Italy-based Tannico by Netherlands-based Moët Hennessy and Campari.
Tannico is in the business of online retail sales, chiefly in Italy, of wines and spirits through its e-commerce platform.
The Commission concluded that the envisaged acquisition would not pose competition issues given that Moët Hennessy and Campari would not have the ability or any incentive to restrict access for competing wine & spirits producers and wholesalers to online retailers, particularly in Italy.
